JR recommends that if you don't have an afc, you can lean out your fuel by lowering your static fuel pressure to 45-50psi. In order to do this safely, you really should also incorporate Rafe's TPS trick, or JR's anticipated black box that attaches to the map sensor.

The BTC is a boost timing controller. It retards timing in the midrange to control detonation and advances timing up high. It also allows the user to retard timing in .1 degree increments per lb of boost. The ultimate goal of the BTC is to allow you to run near-stock timing to improve off-boost performance.

Good luck with your v-afc. The install is pretty straight-forward, just time-consuming. After a few days let us know if you experience CEL's (especially code 3, map sensor code).
